Unleash your inner botanical artist and learn to capture the beauty, form, and character of plants and flowers in this tutor-led workshop suitable for beginners and improvers.
Create your own botanical artworks inspired by the beautiful Walled Garden and key botanical artists throughout history, from early natural history illustration through the Golden Age of botanical art to contemporary practice.
what you will learn
Practice observational and expressive drawing techniques working from a stanning selection of plants in the Walled Garden, explore both traditional and contemporary botanical art, creating work with colour, line and tone.
what you will need
All materials are provided including paper, pencils, gouache and watercolour but you are welcome to bring anything extra if you like.
Where is the workshop
The location for this workshop is the beautiful Walled Garden. There is parking on site and a lovely café as well as
an array of flowers and plants to use as inspiration.
